One of the best, if not the best, Cheetah Club posters from the 60's highlighting none other than Janis Joplin of Big Brother and the Holding Company. This is an extremely rare poster with only three known copies that have survived.
For those that purchased "Hippie" a delicious eye candy coffee table book of the sixties, you may recognize this poster from it, although the one pictured in the book was most likely an advertisement from the LA Free Press Newspaper, that was horizontal shaped. What is interesting with the one in the book Hippie, is the ad proclaims this is Big Brother's 1st Los Angeles appearance, which it certainly was not since Big Brother played at the Cheetah almost a year prior to this performance (see the poster in the psychedelic gallery). Regardless, let's not get accuracy in the way of a really great poster and a terrific one to start off the New Year!
